Human Health Issues:

Physicians should report any suspected human cases of West Nile Virus to the DHSS's Epidemiology Section at (907) 269-8000 (after hours, call 1-800-478-0084) for expedited specimen transport to the CDC.

Veterinary:

Suspected cases of equine West Nile Virus should be reported to the State Veterinarian's Office at (907) 745-3236.

Birds:

To report a dead bird: Contact your regional office of the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game, or the Alaska Section of Epidemiology at (907) 269-8000.
